Nelson McCoy's "Blossom Time" captures the charm of American art pottery from the 1940s. Its bright yellow color and floral character reflect an era when ceramic objects were valued for their personality as well as their purpose. The graceful form brings warmth and a distinctive presence to this original creation.
Handmade in ceramic and identified as originating in California, this example features an ash glaze that adds depth to its surface. Its double-handled silhouette creates a balanced, sculptural profile, while the blossom theme connects the design to nature. The maker's name adds to its period character.
A tiny chip is present and should be considered when assessing its condition. This small imperfection remains part of the piece's story, while its vibrant glaze and distinctive shape preserve the appeal of its mid-century craftsmanship. It is an expressive example of American decorative pottery.
