About Treasures of Bako

Treasures Of Bako began in 2020 with a simple idea: show the youngsters how they could start with very little, uncover an opportunity, put in some work, and make a few bucks of their own.

Dylan already had nearly a decade of experience in real estate investment, acquiring distressed commercial properties nationwide and later residential properties throughout Bakersfield and the surrounding area. That experience developed an eye for overlooked value and a natural interest in discovering opportunities others might pass by.

So one Saturday morning, Dylan, his wife Haziel, their daughter Jaidyn, and their son Xian went out treasure hunting. They started with yard sales and focused primarily on furniture they could buy inexpensively, bring home, clean up, list online, and resell locally. The first day was successful; everyone had fun doing it, and by the following Saturday, they were back out hunting.

Those Saturday mornings quickly became a tradition and eventually grew into something much bigger. Furniture gave way to an incredible variety of treasures, and local pickups expanded into nationwide shipping. Over time, Treasures Of Bako grew across multiple online marketplaces, TreasuresOfBako.com, and the Weekly Online Treasure Hunt.

Their children have become part of the adventure in their own ways. As Xian grew older, he began hunting for clothing for himself. That interest has since expanded into the resale side, as he discovers and purchases his own pieces and turns those discoveries into sales.

Jaidyn now lives in Tampa, but remains part of the Treasures Of Bako crew. She visits often, and when she is back in Bakersfield, she regularly heads out on the hunt, returning to the same Saturday tradition that helped start it all.

What began as a lesson about creating opportunity has grown into Treasures Of Bako.
